Frequently Asked Questions

A. The two formulas have the same strains of live bacteria and beneficial yeasts in them, however the whole food ingredients are different.

Whilst some of the ingredients in the Original formula contain gluten, the wholefoods have been pre-digested by the bacteria through the fermentation process, so approximately 98% of the gluten protein has already been turned into an amino acid. Therefore, anyone who is mildly gluten intolerant or choosing to be gluten free should have no issues with this product. The main thing to remember is that often issues with gluten can be caused through a bacterial deficiency in the gut, which means that there are also other proteins that the body is not processing. Once the balance of good bacteria is restored, the issues with digesting gluten can be reduced.

Our Gluten free formula is guaranteed Gluten Free, so is suitable for those with Coeliac disease or severe gluten intolerances who could have a reaction to the tiny amount of gluten in the original formula.

A. Digestive enzymes are important to be able to get all the goodness out of the food you eat, and your body’s organs are able to produce all the enzymes you need to digest carbs, protein and fat. Digestive enzymes such as Amylase, Protease & Lipase are secreted by the salivary glands, stomach, pancreas, and the small intestine, and you can also get some digestive enzymes from the food you eat, such as raw fruits and vegetables, sprouted seeds, raw nuts, whole grains, andlegumes. Getting your digestive enzymes out of your food however is really dependant on how much you chew your food. When you chew your food, enzymes such as Amylase, which is produced by the salivary glands, breaks complex carbohydrates to smaller chains to aid digestion. So, the single most important thing to do is to chew your food properly to ensure the maximum digestive enzymes are produced. Fermented foods such as Immunity Fuel, which contains multiple raw wholefoods is a great source of digestive enzymes to supplement those produced by your own body.

A. IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) is very common and usual symptoms include bloating, constipation and / or diarrhoea, and abdominal discomfort. Sufferers often have lower levels of beneficial gut bacteria e.g. Bifidobacterium species, and increased levels of gut pathogens.

There are different types of IBS, and different strains of probiotics help in different situations. Immunity Fuel has 15 strains of LIVE probiotics (13 strains of bacteria and 2 strains of beneficial yeasts), which give a huge boost to the numbers of friendly bacteria in the gut, reducing inflamation and counteracting colonisation of ‘bad’ microorganisms, which often cause excess gas production and digestive discomfort.  Beneficial microflora can help to break down foods which may exacerbate IBS, and healthy flora may play a part in modulating the nervous system in the gut, reducing the impact of stress on the gut, which is a key factor for many people with IBS.

A:Yes, Immunity Fuel is safe for people with Diabetes. Immunity Fuel does not contain added refined sugars and with only 1.5 grams of carbohydrates per serve the effect on blood glucose is minimal. A. Yes - our bacteria are hardy strains that can withstand temps of over 55 deg.cel for up to a week.

A. Every batch of Immunity Fuel is tested to ensure high numbers of active colony forming units (CFU) per gram. Each CFU has approximately 1,000,000 (1 million) bacteria in that colony (this is when there is enough bacteria to be visible as a colony and can then be counted). So if a batch test comes out at >10,000 live CFU's per gram, for example, that would mean that batch has a MINIMUM of 10,000,000,000 (10 billion) actual bacteria per gram. A child serving of 1/2 a teaspoon is approximately 1.5 grams so this would give them a MINIMUM of 15 billion bacteria, and an adult serving of 1 teaspoon is 3 grams which would be minimum 30 billion bacteria. These are minimum numbers as our bacteria are alive and so are multiplying all the time (live bacteria multiply every 20 minutes).

A. Immunity Fuel is manufactured via a natural fermentation process so the number of live bacteria will always vary, each batch will be different and it would be impossible to state a number of bacteria on the product label as live bacteria are constantly multiplying (and we would have to change our label for every batch!). This is why a batch test is important to ensure that there are actually LIVE bacteria in the product, this is much more important than a number. Most products that state a number of bacteria are freeze dried or in pill form where the bacteria are inert (and therefore not multiplying) when ingested, and need favourable gut conditions to reactivate in the gut, whereas Immunity Fuel is working from the moment it enters your mouth.

A. There is no one answer to this as everybody is different and will respond differently. If you have a specific health concern, you may notice it flares up (as the good bacteria fight the bad bacteria) before it gets better. Many people notice a change in bowel movements, i.e. becoming more regular, less bloat, or more energy. It really depends on you specifically, so if you would like to discuss with us first please contact us :)

A. Immunity Fuel is manufactured in Australia. All ingredients are Certified Organic and none of them have been genetically engineered. The wholefoods are combined with the bacteria and beneficial yeasts using an exclusive fermentation process, , which ensures active, viable bacteria and pre-digested, natural nutrients. Only the finest grains, legumes, grasses, herbs, and spirulina available are used to make our products. The majority of ingredients are sourced in Australia with organic being an extremely high priority. Imported ingredients are only used when they cannot be sourced in Australia these supplies are thoroughly investigated to be assured of quality and that none are from genetically modified or engineered sources.

A. Yes. Antibiotics are used to destroy harmful bacteria in the body causing infection. However they also kill off the good bacteria our bodies need to stay healthy. Therefore, a good probiotic like Immunity Fuel is imperative to be taken before, during and after a course of antibiotics to ensure a healthy balance of good bacteria in the body.

A. The shelf life of Immunity Fuel is 2 years.

A. Freezing has no effect on the bacteria so frozen smoothies are fine.

A. Yes the bacteria are alive and therefore Immunity Fuel makes an excellent starter for yoghurt. Use 1 teaspoon of Immunity Fuel per 1 litre of milk.

A. As you’re introducing new bacteria into the gut, this may initially cause some bloating and intestinal gas, this is normal and is only temporary as per question above. If it becomes too uncomfortable then take less Immunity Fuel until this response passes.

A. It takes years for the body to decline in health. When you start the road to recovery you walk back up the road of decline. You do not instantly move to good health, the body has to heal itself again and this takes time. Many experience the hit of feeling good and then as the body goes through its healing response you may feel bad for a while. If you had a particular problem that went away it may just have gone into dormancy. When the body starts to heal itself a battle erupts with the problem trying to survive and this battle is what is possibly being experienced as a feeling of “worse than ever". Follow the advice given in the healing response answer above.

A. More than likely since the ingredients have been pre-digested by the bacteria you should have no problem. However it is prudent to be careful so try just a ½ teaspoon and see how your body responds. Most allergies to foods are the result of the improper balance of bacteria in your intestinal tract. You may find after using the product that these allergies disappear.

A. Over 18 years of research and 2.5 million dollars of investment was spent to develop a super strain of bacteria that is contained in Immunity Fuel. The main killers of bacteria were identified, which include anti-biotic therapy, colas, synthetic ascorbic acid, heat, cold, fluorides, chlorine's, preservatives, salt, alcohol, and stress, and through a unique process the bacteria contained in Immunity Fuel have been evolved to be resistant to most of these killers. This resulted in a super strain of bacteria that have the power to overcome even the most stubborn bad bacteria, yeasts and stomach environments.

A. As we are not Medical Practitioners we cant comment specifically on any medical conditions, however Immunity Fuel provides the raw materials the body needs in order to heal itself. The body is a complex chemical factory capable of healing itself of many problems as long as it has the raw materials in the form of whole food nutrients available and as long as the intestinal tract is healthy with the proper balance of good and bad bacteria. The secret to combating any problem in the body is to unleash and assist its potential to heal itself. Immunity Fuel does this by providing the whole food nutrients that assist the immune system. The front line defence and offense of the immune system is the friendly bacteria. Then having a vast array of nutrients in the form of amino acids, anti oxidants, vitamins, minerals and enzymes provides the needed raw materials so the immune system has what it needs to get the job done
